Årene Går musically interpreted by reSouza, is a captivating Norwegian song under a Brazilian sun!
I really needed a tropical sandbox of folky bossa nova today. Just to lean back and clear things off my mind. reSouza came to save the day, texturally blending two beautiful cultures together in her music. Not understanding a lyrical word, is never a problem with the global language of music. However, there are hints for me and you: the feeling of losing someone that is still in your life, when you realise he or she doesn’t accept the whole of you, when a parent doesn’t love you unconditionally, waiting and hoping that maybe one day he/she will understand, embrace you and apologize.
There is a unique expression in this track which can blend my ear to the depths of Lhasa de Sela or Maria Rita. I’ve listened to Årene Går many times today to jump in conclusion and confess it’s pure brilliance! And as I’m closing up this paragraph, I clearly remember how stoked I’m feeling somehow for discovering reSouza, it’s the same instinct I got in my butterfly tummy while falling upon Mia Doi Todd’s – Paraty. Enjoy tracks to cherish for a lifetime!
