Mother Sun – Sea Salt

Mother Sun – Sea Salt

Movement from all directions; life is a blur, yet existing in a state from whence our most intense memories may be impressed. Quick, jazz-esque chordal & melodic arrangements open, & one can feel the wind in their hair, speeding along, letting the open expanse take them where it may. Mother Sun, seemingly a paradox in language by the very combination of words, has sent us down a pleasant road upon which we did not expect to venture…

‘Sea Salt’ , an aptly named shore/ beach/ oceanic title, imparts us with the feeling of pleasant exploration, an abrupt & spontaneous vacation, or perhaps a strangely (& questionably) relaxing day at work. The delicate sapidity of the guitar is hyper-unique; akin, perhaps, mostly to Television, if only in their fusion of jazz & punk, but completely distinctive in & of itself. Particularly, when coupled with the vocals, which deliver some refreshing, almost Herb Albert’s Tijuana Brass Band-type melodies, a singular sound is defined, & the music absorbs with a delightful ‘classic pop’ palatability. Happening, present, & deliberate, this is a band worthy of a deeper dive; here hear for further adventures:
