There is something softcore-adjacent about Newscaster’s latest 3.612574 album. Stuck on my gas is “At Midnight“, a kraut shout with trumpet-ament. The mood feels delicately accurate, feeding off a thrill of anticipation in the dark of the night. The track is actually about connection and communion in a long distant memory that has blurred into multiples, maybe primordial in that way, so to speak. It’s a hazy late night mooder, transportive in any spiritual way. Oh and it really reminds me of the cool discoveries (sick LPs) from the 70s-80s era, it’s a dusted diamond in a new field of experimentation. Grab the musical absinthe!
Keep an eye on them on Facebook, Instagram and buy the album on Bandcamp.
