By now you all know how I’ve grown up in Sydney my primary years and when a track kicks in with the Aussie accent I automatically feel closer to the music. Today I’ve come across the band Marathon from Melbourne. They have started to claim in 2018 a shoegaze, post-punk idiom like jangly guitars and melodic bittersweet upbeat dancing. I witness an elegant fluidity and the tracks have huge potential. I’m just Checking Out, however, you can listen to the new album Exercise in Moderation. Overall mates, these tidal sweeps of sound will remind you of bands or circumstances, although Marathon’s spirit is unique and a natural distortion reverb to everything that makes us fuzzy/warm inside always with a galvanizing ear.
