Bikelane is a Norwegian indie band doing their best to bring back “that” original indie scene
If you want my opinion (and probably you do if you’re still reading), they’re doing a terrific job at it.
The fact is, the music progresses and with it, people tend to move from genre to genre. It’s not a secret that you stopped listening to the same music from when you were 17. Maybe you reminisce once or twice, giving room to nostalgia but that’s about it.
The good news is, there are still bands and musicians, bringing back to life genres that seem somehow forgotten and with it, making you go back to some simpler times.
Bikelane with their song Orange is one of these examples.
Just push the play button, you’ll be instantly transported to a time where Arctic Monkeys were still a college band, Ben Folds Five was still together and The Strokes were “the new sound“.
While Bikelane has retained all the elements of classic original indie, the production smells of today, modern crunchy guitars, a heavy drumbeat, and vocals that step from 2000 to 2022 from Verse to Chorus. The band seems really well bonded and tight, all sounds are exceptionally well thought and placed and the performance is strong and raw.
I really enjoyed the feel of the track and can’t wait to hear more from Bikelane.
