Sister Void aka Lindsey Nico Mann is a Los Angeles-based music video director/musician whose work you’ve seen on artists like Major Lazer, Silk City, Alice Glass, Teenage Wrist, and more.
Her song “blink”, released on Feb 14, 2022, is her first single for this year and it really packs a punch. As you can expect from an artist who uses her creative mind to direct videos for other artists and write her own music, she’s a very sensitized person. In “blink” she addresses issues like fleeting love, life being short, and trying to see it all before you go blind. If you ask me, these are things we all think and are afraid of. Sister Void takes those issues and turns them into beautiful music.
Blink is produced by Teenage Wrist’s guitarist/vocalist Marshall Gallagher who also plays the guitars on the track, with the help of Anthony Salazar (also Teenage Wrist) on the drums. The song will be on her first EP which we are eagerly expecting later this year.
Personally, I was hooked by Linsey’s emotional voice and lyrics by the first seconds I listened. The song is on the heavy side of production with deep bass, some really nice overdriven guitars, and really tight drums.
If you’re into alternative artists with strong lyrics and a variety of sounds and genres in their arsenal, Sister Void definitely deserves a listen.
