The Bergamot – Medusa

The Bergamot, aka Nathaniel Paul Hoff and Jillian Speece, are an American Indie Rock band making groovy music that immediately hooks you up. The duo first met in South Bend, IN at Marian High School and has been making music ever since then.

The band released their first single in 2017, where it was discovered by renowned producer Matt Wiggins (Adele, U2, Glass Animals) and thus launched their career, achieving great reviews such as “The hottest emerging music talent” (People).
In early 2020, the band was invited to open for OneRepublic. With 2020 being the year COVID hit, every tour date was canceled and this called for another area to focus, The Bergamot shifted their eyes to finishing their new album “Far Out” and their feature-length documentary “State of the Unity”. The latest was released this spring and met love from every side, winning the Paris Independent Film Festival’s “Best Documentary Feature”.

After all these great achievements, The Bergamot released what seems to be another track, ready to skyrocket, “Medusa“. Medusa is a groovy indie track, with a bit of British air on the vocals and riff fills but a lot of American scent filling the production. The guitar riffs instantly captivate anyone who’s a fan of the genre and make everyone who isn’t, shake their heads at the rhythm. It feels like this could easily be a new summer anthem. I’m already picturing the song playing while I’m enjoying a nice cold beer near the beach or dancing to it in an open-air venue.

The track has a unique energy that makes you want to shake every part of your body.
It seems like Matt Wiggins hit gold discovering The Bergamot and I’m sure glad to be writing about Medusa.
