Rat Race opens up its sampling with a profoundly moving jazz piece of music (written by one of my all-time favorite’s out there). Attention to details, all through the track from the 18-year-old Hertfordshire-based rapper jesi. Head rocking rhymes define beat structure wrapped in wordy flames of a black teenager struggle for just being – in the ups and downs of life. jesi utilized studio and bedroom window writing(s) and we can’t wait to listen to more of his music.
Systemic injustices we are fighting. Thank you jesi for speaking up the truths. “There is no one out there – that can be like me”. And that is what we love, humanity in its bold and beautiful uniqueness. One love.
