Featuring musicians from London and Manchester, Täpp are releasing a twelve-track, genre-defying debut album, that effortlessly blends influences from classical music, jazz, hip-hop, electronic music, and folk/world music to create unique and exhilarating sound worlds that capture a listeners’ imagination.
Aquaria lifted from the debut album ‘i like what i do // i do what i like by‘ documents a music anthem created to empower women, transgender/gender non-conforming people, and the LGBTQ+ community, encouraging them to step into their light and shine like the gifts they are to the world. It is named after the legendary winner of season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
If anything Täpp plays more than ever. Everything is a shimmering soundscape, a chance to dance on lucid or solid ground. It feels like such an advance as a collaborative project. Poets, singers, dancers, drums, percussion, piano, electronics, sound engineers ++ lots of beautiful work produced remotely due to the pandemic.
It is a politically engaged album up to date, that makes you think of the world a bit differently. Täpp led by classically trained jazz violinist Rebekah Reid surely is the most honest treat you will listen to all summer. A music metaphor for all sorts of differences that always unite us as ONE.
