Holy Smokes – Radiator Song

Holy Smokes

Holy Smokes is a Boston-based, indie-rock band, here to prove that DIY aesthetics are not synonymous with amateur musicianship.

Radiator Song is Holy Smokes‘ first single and will be included in the upcoming self-titled album. It was recorded during the lockdown due to COVID-19. Holy Smokes got creative and recorded the whole album in basements, kitchens, and living rooms on a Tascam 4-track tape machine.

Singer-songwriter Eric Bolton took the job of producing and mixing the album, having been inspired by the fidelity and craftsmanship of music from Car Seat Headrest and Guided By Voices. The outcome feels alive like it’ll come out of the speakers
and punch you in the face. (No references to current events whatsoever)

Holy Smokes music features a galloping rhythm section, along with harmonized guitar lines and key changes that may feel familiar but are original and pure.

I love how the band took a bad situation and turned it into something so awesome, it’s these kinds of things that show how we should never lose hope, light shines in the darkest of places.
