Aisha Burns is from San Antonio, Texas and began playing violin at age 10. She moved to Austin when she was 18, and in 2006 joined folk rock outfit Alex Dupree and the Trapdoor Band, her first musical endeavor outside the classical realm. In 2007, she joined Balmorhea and soon after began tracking for their label debut “Rivers Arms.” She has toured with Balmorhea and Idyl and will release her solo debut “Life in the Midwater” in 2013.
