I am in love with Kwoon since the early releases from “I lived on the Moon” when I met the band online as a Post-Rock phenomenon. Years later, Sandy Lavallart head of the Kwoon project, has chased his solo dreams during the pandemic and has produced an epic series of live performances in the most breath-taking places on planet Earth: at Volcano La Rilla, at the scary lighthouse Tevennec in the middle of the sea, and at the top of Aiguille du Triolet in the Mont Blanc massif to name a few! Of course, backed up by a wonderful team and a strong vision!
Kwoon’s latest chapter of a dream is a live gorgeous swirl of sound at the Aerodrome de Quiberon (France), where “Stratosfear” as an Avant-experiment has weightless enduring and sophisticated texture, gleaming and shimmering in space-rock epicness into the cosmos. The swoons of pedal effects, strings, and beats give a dreamy/cinematic feel augmented no doubt by Sigur-Ros or Explosions in the Sky-like post-rock. This live moment was all wrapped up, sending a guitar to “Stratosfear” space! Just watch the experience for yourself!
Sandy is already aiming to be the first to play on the Moon. To achieve this, he is inviting us to share/retweet this video tagging the French astronaut Thomas Pesquet and that of Elon Musk (Space X) to create some traction on social media. Let’s make this viral! It’s an epic dream to come true indeed! Sandy, you are one of a kind!
You can also watch the whole amazing 2hr journey of the first guitar ever launched into space with a weather balloon if you are more of a space nerd just like me!
