Roman Wróblewski’s take on one of the oldest traditions of lament, comes as a pledge to support Ukraine, as the war seems to have no stop.
Roman Wróblewski is a pianist, singer, and music producer, his music is a blend of jazz improv with a classical touch. Think, Debussy meets Einaudi.
His performance and arrangement of Lamento, along with BlauBird’s singing and Weronika Kulpa’s cello, is truly breathtaking. It’s one of those cases that even when you don’t speak and understand a language, you feel what the song is about.
Roman’s piano performance is soulful and passionate, giving goosebumps as you listen and there’s also a live video performance that goes with it to transfer more of the energy that was recorded along with the instruments in the room.
A true masterpiece to say. Maybe not for everyone’s ears, but surely worth listening to.
